Robert Griffin III with grandmother Irene Griffin and parents, Robert and Jackie Griffin, and new wife, Rebecca Liddicoat.
The Robert Griffin III (RG3) family of New Orleans, Louisiana proudly share the 2011 Heisman trophy winner and now starting quarterback for the Washington Redskins with the world. Unsurprisingly, RG3 takes his place in hardworking family line dating back to the days of RG1 working as a construction foreman in New Orleans and cheering on the Washington Redskins. RG3's grandfather not only worked hard to make a life for his children and grandchildren, but promoted having a positive vision of the future that leads the family through any adversity.

Robby Griffin III parents, Robert and Jackie, are each retired Army sergeants who raised RG3 and his two older sisters, Jiham and DeíJon, in multiple locations including Japan, Washington state, New Orleans, and later settled in Texas in 1997.
Most of RG3ís entire family, including his fiance, Rebecca Reddicoat, attended his draft ceremony in New York City in the spring of 2012 including his proud grandmothers, Irene Griffin and Julie Ross. Today the love for RG3 extends to Washington politicians and the rest of the country.

RG3 has finally married his long time girlfriend just in time for football season to start. Congrats to the happy couple. Tonight is RG3 and Redskins opener against the Philadelphia Eagles. Go Skins!

Robert Lee Griffin III (b. February 12, 1990 [Okinawa, Fort Lewis, Japan])
Parents : [father - Robert Griffin, Jr.] and [mother - Jackeline Ross Griffin]

The biography of Robert Griffin III begins with his birth to Robert and Jacqueline Griffin when they were both stationed with the US Army in Japan in the winter of 1990. RG3ís father brags that he was walking at 9 months and running at 12 months. When attending high school in Texas, he finished in 3 and a half years while excelling in three sports, basketball, track and of course, football. Focusing on track, RG3 ran the 400 meter hurdles at the 2008 Olympic Trial, making it to the semifinals.

He then chose to play football for Baylor University where he began as wide receiver and moved into the position of quarterback during his senior year. Posting some unbelievable statistics as a Baylor Bear, RG3 won the coveted Heisman Trophy in 2011, which solidified his position as the 2nd pick in the 2012 NFL draft. Robert Griffin III signed a four year deal with the Washington Redskins. Redskins fans excitedly await to see how his NFL rookie season will unfold.

Robert Griffin III Family Tree
Robert Griffin III Father - Robert Griffin, Jr.
  (b. B. 1965 [Louisiana] )

Robert Griffin Jr. was born in New Orleans to a construction worker with a heart of gold that planted the seed in his sons and grandsons to work hard and reach for their dreams. RG2 lived a very exciting life with his charismatic father until his father lost his vision to glaucoma at the age of 40. He joined the US Army during his senior year of high school when his dream of going to college could not be afforded by the family or through scholarships.

While in the Army he fell in love with and married his wife, Jackie, who is from his home town, but at the time, was also station at Fort Carson, in Colorado. After seeing the world and the birth of 3 children, RG3ís parents eventually settled in the Texas town of Copperas Cove. As a Staff Sergeant, Robert Griffin Jr. worked as a Petroleum Distribution Specialist until he retired. He finally realized his college dream by graduating from Texas A&M with a bachelors and masterís degree, so he could counsel soldiers returning from the battlefields in Iraq.

Robert Griffin III Mother - Jaqueline (nee Ross) Griffin (b. ca 1965 [Louisiana])
Jacqueline Ross was born in New Orleans and met her husband in 1983. However the couple did not strike up a romance until they were both stationed with the army in Colorado. As Staff Sergeant Jackie Griffin, she retired from the US Army in 1997 when the Griffin family settled in Texas. Just like her mother, Julie Ross, and RG3ís other grandmother, Irene Ross, Jackie Griffin is very devout Christian.

Robby Griffinís mother preaches in every interview about a youthful experience for RG3 when a pastor anointed him with Godís grace at his pulpit in front of the congregation and proclaimed that he would change the world through athletics. The women of the Griffin family praise the Lord for RG3ís rise to fame in the NFL with his new position as quarterback for the Washington Redskins. Maternal Grandparents
